PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This weekly lesson plan goes along with the common core curriculum map for 2nd grade: Journey to Freedom. It is the FOURTH week in my Journey to Freedom Unit.

In this weekly lesson plan, students will be listening to stories about The Emancipation Proclamation, Mr. Rosenwald, Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges. They will learn how the events connect to each other in history and understand where they fit on a timeline. The students will respond to each story read orally and in their student response booklet. At the end of the week, students will take a timeline test.

By the end of the week, they are able to:
explain the problem and solution in a story.
tell how a story fits on a timeline.
connect stories and events in history together.
create a timeline.

1 student response booklet template to copy for each student - the booklet is formatted to be printed front and back so that when you fold it all the pages line up.
