This is a project that I used to assess learning after studying the
layers of the earth. I broke the students up into small groups and
gave them three entire class periods to brainstorm, write a rough
draft, and finalize a copy to be turned in. They were very excited to be able to incorporate creative writing into a science project.
Not only was this project fun for the students, but it was also very
interesting to see how they were able to coherently weave the required information into story form.
