This PowerPoint takes students from the mouth to the anus and all the stops along the digestive tract in between. It focuses on big ideas instead of minutia. For example, surface area of the small intestines is covered, but not the role of the liver or pancreas. This is definitely an overview, but will help students understand where things happen and why. It would make a great review or introduction to the digestive system because it gives students the big picture.
There are a few spots to fill in the blanks to get students involved in the presentation. I did not provide a key for these, but I would be happy to e-mail the answers if they are needed.
The organs covered are the mouth, the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine, the large intestine, and the rectum/anus at the end of the large intestine.
