Use this sheet prior to teaching the story, "The Boy Who Loved Baseball." This activity activates student's prior knowledge, allows for partner share, and making predictions. It also includes an exit ticket which helps the student to process and make connections to the literature read. This sheet is a great way to help students to become engaged in their learning process. Whether your students have been writing or not, this will get them thinking and connecting with the text. *Please note, this is an easy activity to grade, if the student writes 3 lines they receive 3 points if they write anything less, they do not receive the points. There is not a right or wrong answer, you are grading the engagement, not the content. This is a great way to have concrete evidence for class participation grades.
