This supplemental workbook provides extra practice to go along with Unit 6; Lesson 29, Journeys 2011 "A Boat Disappears from Inspector Hopper" or Lesson 29, Journeys 2014 "Hi! Fly Guy." The engaging activities provide a chance for independent practice while you are working with small groups or for you to use as assessment.

Future supplemental workbooks will follow the same format as much as possible so the children can look at a page and easily know what to do on that page with minimal instruction from you.
In this download, you get 14 activities that focus on:
*identifying high frequency words
*base words with -ful, -ly, and -y
*grammar, revising sentences adding adverbs
*using visualization and cause and effect to understand a story.
Please note that the only difference between the two included resources will be the high frequency words and the comprehension skill sheets, since that is the only difference between the two years. If you use Journeys 2011, please use "A Boat Disappears." If you use Journeys 2014, please use "Hi! Fly Guy."
Although this was designed to accompany the Journeys reading series, you can see that the skills are applicable to any first grade curriculum. You do not have to read the story to complete the pages.
