There are 2 versions. One is where the student page is copied on cardstock (I use yellow or orange at my school) with letter tiles below for students to cut out. The other version saves cardstock and is where you print only the letter tiles on cardstock and the student page can be copy paper. If you have classroom letter tiles, then the 2nd version would be good for you!
This is a whole group activity where the teacher guides students at the front on the overhead or at the document camera. The teacher watches to make sure all students make the word, then they are called to write the word and move on. This activity also works great in a small group guided by teacher or aide. This is a weekly activity where EVERY student can be successful. The hands-on opportunity gives students control over their learning and it’s fun!
This letter tile packet has the added excitement of figuring out the mystery compound word.
