I bet you're hearing from administrators....."NO MORE WORKSHEETS OR RUN-OFFS! WE EXPECT TO SEE STUDENT GENERATED WORK!"
If you are implementing the Journeys Reading Series, these "kid friendly" illustrations were designed as a model for TEACHERS to use during whole group instruction, mini-lessons or as "posters" in literacy workstations. My students create these maps in their spiral notebooks, as I demonstrate each, step by step. Writing the word AND illustrating an original picture to match, help those early readers recall the story sequence!
These notebooks are used as a personal “word wall” resource during daily writing, as well!
This pack includes:
"Ways to take a trip"- (transportation) Circle Map
"Ways to take a trip" (story sequence) Flow Map
All items align with the Common Core Standards and the target/focus skills taught in the basal for this story.
