Want to find a way to get your kids engaged during the weekly reading?
This Tool-In-Hand is a great way to get kids digging into the reading AND get those higher order thinking skills in!
This (typically) starts on Day 2/3 which you can find in the middle section. This is the weekly graphic organizer to teach the skill of the week (i.e. Cause & Effect, Main Idea & Detail, etc). This weeks skill is Drawing Conclusions. Students will be required to draw a conclusion on Currie's findings and identify details from the text that help them make that conclusion.
The inside flaps have questions for them to answer from the text, and a space for them to answer the essential question for the week.
Day 4 (found on the back) is either the Text to Text, Text to Self, or Text to World question from the second story. I also add in a few other questions that are great comprehension questions and get your kids to write down THEIR OWN THINKING!
In this file you will find:
- the Tool-In-Hand
- answer key
This is made with the intent to be printed on 11x17 paper. Must fold sides into the center to make flaps.
