Page 3 High-Frequency Word Page – “like” - illustrate it, roll the dice to see what color to write it, use it in a simple sentence.
Pg. 4-8 Letter Pages – roll the dice to see what color to trace and write each letter, draw a picture of something that starts with that letter, complete the activity in the bottom right of the page
Pg. 9 My Like Book – a foldable book that lets you practice writing the word “like” by telling what ice cream, color, and animal you like
Pg. 10-11 It’s Time to Rhyme! – make a watch with “at” rhyming words – cut out the letter boxes and stack them on top of the letter “c” on the watch - staple them in place -lift the flap to change the beginning sounds
Pg. 12 Letter Match! – Cut out the bus and the letter strips, cut on the dotted lines to form four openings – pull each strip up and down through each opening – move the strips to match the capital letters with the lowercase letters
Pg. 13-15 Places I Like Mobile – cut out the heart and the three boxes – think of three of your favorite places, illustrate them and label them in each box – attach them with string to the heart – attach string to the top of the heart and hang
Pg. 16-19 I Like to Go book – a book to practice reading the word “like” and to practice labeling places - copy page A and B back to back to form a book, cut out the boxes on page C, glue the labels on top of the appropriate pictures in the book
Pg. 20-24 Dino-mite Behavior – talk about rules that you have in your classroom – ex: raising hands, walking, listening, being kind – have the students trace the words and finish writing a class rule, copy the patterns onto construction paper and put the dinosaur together with the writing page – display in hall or on a bulletin board
Pg. 25-32 Paper Bag Characters! – choose a dinosaur puppet to make, copy onto construction paper, color, cut and glue onto a lunch bag – find a partner, see if your partner can guess what your puppet is feeling by what your puppet says and does
Pg. 33- 40 Time for School! – a game that allows the student to match capitals and lowercase letters as well as introducing them to the letter sounds – everyone gets a bus game board – place the picture cards face down in a pile, take turns choosing a picture card, saying the word, and matching it to the capital letter on the bus, if you pick up a card that is already on your bus, you lose a turn – the person who fills up their bus or has the most cards on their bus – wins – for 2 to 4 players – can attach to or print on cardstock and laminate
