Pg. 3-5 Feed the Lion! – color and cut out the lion, glue the lion and the “Ll” box to the paper bag, cut out the mouth, cut out the picture boxes on page B, only feed the lion the pictures that start with the “l” sound – enough pictures for two students
Pg. 6-8 Willy Worm! – cut out the pictures on page B and glue only the pictures that start with the “w” sound onto Willy Worm – enough pictures for two students
Pg. 9-10 – High Frequency Words “help” and “have” – draw a picture to show it’s meaning, write a sentence using it, write it five times – roll the dice to see what color to write it each time
Pg. 11 Compare and Contrast! – compare and contrast yourself to a family member or friend – What do you like? What do they like? What do you both like?
Pg. 12-16 Subject and Verb Agreement – copy pages A and B back to back, fold the book and cut only on the dotted lines - two choices of B sides for the inside of the book – first choice, has blank pages and the students cut the words out and glue the words on the inside – the second choice has lines for the students to write a verb of their choice – use the second choice for students who need more of a challenge
Pg. 17-21 Subject and Verb Agreement game – use this in small groups and have the students match the subject and verbs – the letter “s” on the verbs are in red for easy recognition
Pg. 22-23 My Ending Sounds wheel and accordion book – practice different ending sounds for the letters “ca” in cab by turning the wheel, record them in the accordion mini book – write other words in each row by changing the ending sounds
Pg. 24 – 26 Can You Fly a Kite? – a writing and craft project – In your opinion do you think it would be easy or hard to fly a kite? Why? - copy the kite onto different colored construction paper, add a yarn tail with yarn bows
Pg. 27-29 Sort it Out! – cut out the pictures on page B and sort them out into the different columns depending on if the picture belongs at home, the beach, or at school – enough pictures for two students on side B
Pg. 30-31 Let’s Make a Kite! – copy the kite pattern onto different colored paper, fold, add tape, string and a popsicle stick – run and have fun!
Pg. 32-37 Who Stole a Cookie from the cookie jar? A fun High Frequency Word Game – for four players, take turns reading the words on the cookies and putting them on your plate – can be laminated
