Here is a collection of worksheets I use to practice the Journeys spelling lists. There are 30 pages, one for each lesson. On each page the students are asked to read the words, write the words, then build them with letter tiles. The tiles needed for each lesson are at the bottom of the page for the kiddos to cut and use.
I use these in my class each week. I give the kids a small container to manage the tiles while they work. The kids also each have a place mat that they work on, so that at the end of each lesson they can easily dump their tiles and scraps in the trash.
If the kiddos finish early, I have them use their tiles to try and build other words and write them on the back of the page. The higher level kids seemed challenged and enthused during this extended activity.
These go with the Journeys spelling lists that are on the Focus Walls.
