Guided viewing questions to accompany the 20th Century Fox film "Joy," starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper!
This is a biopic about successful inventor and entrepreneur Joy Mangano. This is a perfect film to introduce or review an economics unit on entrepreneurship. Perfect for you intro to economics, finance, or business class! Students LOVE the film and are inspired by Joy's story!
I created this because the only questions I could find online for this film were really too in depth to answer while watching the movie, and I needed something to keep my students note-taking and engaged during the film.
I use the film before doing a Shark Tank project where students have to invent a product of their own. This is a GREAT resource for before any kind of inventor/ business model project.
Includes guided viewing questions for during the film, as well as an optional writing extension activity for reflecting on the film, including recommended additional resources.
Perfect for hitting Common Core Writing, Speaking and Listening Standards!
NOTE: I do not take any credit for the film Joy, images from Joy, or articles that are provided as additional resources. This is simply an educational guide to accompany this film.
(Film is rated PG-13. I recommend using this in a high school format. Some clips would need to be omitted if you are viewing this with a younger audience. Film runs about 2 hours.)
