I have included lessons for thirteen stories from Jr. Great Books grade five (semester 1 and 2), grade six (semesters 1 and 2), and grade seven.
All of these lessons come with the following:
pre-reading activity - to get the students ready for the topic
during reading activity - look-fors to help support the students
post-reading activities - to get at the meat of the story and help with comprehension
and some include optional activities for further discussion or research.
I have used these for small reading circles, book club, and when I have parent volunteers. The stories are engaging and the questions help spur critical thinking and great discussion.
You will need the JR Great Books series 5, 6 or 7 for this to be useful.
