PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a small-group activity where students take on the role as lawyers to defend or prosecute a statement about their book. The activity is designed for five people and each person plays a specific role for the case. The purpose of this activity is for students to find and present textual evidence that supports or disproves the claim they are given. An example is included for The Giver by Lois Lowry.

The claims included in this are for The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and Flower's for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. However, it can easily be manipulated to be for any text.
