This lesson plan meets Reading Literature standards 1 (key details), 2 (retelling the story), 3 (character, settings, major events), 4 (unknown words to understand the story), 6 (author and illustrator), and 9 (comparing characters) for Kindergarten and 1st Grade. You can use the activities to adapt for kids who need more or less.
*I've included 3 pages of detailed lesson plans with comprehension questions w/answers, directions for each graphic organizer, and class activities, including making a poster about bullying to hang up in the school, listing 5 ways to stop bullying, making inferences, and what the juice box stain means. When applicable, I've inserted answer keys. All you need is to purchase the book on Amazon or at a book store!
