This unit highlights the wonderful works of renowned children's book author, Julia Donaldson! Students utilize higher-level thinking skills when comparing books written by the same author. After reading or listening to several works by Julia Donaldson, students will engage in literary skills such as: author's viewpoint, fantasy elements, rhyme, story structure, theme, character analysis, turning point, problem and solution, and antonyms. There is also a Venn diagram to aid in comparing and contrasting two of the books. Students are also encouraged to support their answers with textual evidence.
