This is a 19 page workbook to accompany the story "Julius" by Angela Johnson. Skills covered include: author's purpose, context clues, comparing/contrasting, consonant clusters, digraphs, compound words, inferences, punctuation, summarizing, contractions, syllables, predicting, fact/opinion, parts of speech, synonyms and antonyms, true/false, homophones, singular and plural nouns, possessive nouns, facts and details, picture clues, vocabulary, pronouns, reality vs. fantasy, proper nouns, character analysis, story sequence, making connections, subject and predicate, analogies, word endings, grammar, complete and incomplete sentences, ABC order, identifying narrator, alternate endings, soft and hard c and g, sentence types, vowel sounds, and cause and effect. The page numbers referenced in this workbook correspond to the story in the Houghton Mifflin® Anthology "Adventures" from their California Reading program. If you are using another version of "Julius", this will still be useful to you, but you may have to modify a few things. If you like this product, check out my workbooks for other stories in the "Adventures" and "Delights" anthology books. Tell your 3rd and 4th grade teacher friends that I have workbooks available for their stories too!
