There are 24 words in the crossword. These include difficult words from the text, and keywords which students should know to enable them to discuss this first act of the play.

Words in the puzzle are.. barren, Capitol, commoner, conspiracy, crown, epilepsy, god, Ides, jealous, lean, Lupercalia, noble, plot, Pompey, portent, portentous, senate, senator, soothsayer, superstition, tempest, thrice, triumph, and tyrant.

Although students often see the puzzle format as a fun task, it is an active learning activity. It helps students with spelling and comprehension of new words.

A word bank is supplied to support students. You could redact this to make the puzzle more challenging.
