Julius Caesar Assassination: A CSI Investigation on Julius Caesar & Rome!

This Julius Caesar CSI Investigation lesson is included in the Ancient Rome Unit and the CSI World History Bundle:

Ancient Rome Unit: 14 fun, student-centered activities to teach Ancient Rome!

CSI World History Bundle! Tut, Maya, Shakespeare, Atlantis, & More!

-------

In this Julius Caesar CSI investigation, students take on the role of an investigator as they learn about the events surrounding the assassination of the Roman leader Julius Caesar, and why his death was viewed as an attempt to save the Roman Republic!

Students are engaged with 10 different sources that focus on who killed Julius Caesar, why the Senate conspired against him, and why he was killed. Students navigate throughout the room to uncover how all 10 sources relate to Caesar's assassination and record essential information in the included student guide! Students interact with witness testimony, transcripts from conversations, and even modern day research!

To conclude, students complete a short writing assignment where they use what they have learned to answer two overarching questions: Who Killed Julius Caesar and Why Was Caesar Killed?

This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom. This will allow students to type directly into the document!

Enjoy!
