This is an essay prompt used after reading the first three acts of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. It asks them to discuss the purposes of the different soliloquies that have come up in the play. The prompt asks for a five paragraph essay, though you could easily modify it to suit your needs. The prompt assumes that the students know what a soliloquy is already.
This includes an easy to use rubric for grading the soliloquy essay.
