Julius Caesar Fishbowl Debate → Editable files!
Are you finishing up Shakespeare's Julius Caesar? This Fishbowl Debate requires students to synthesize their understanding of two major characters in the play in order to assess their leadership qualities. After working through a few preparation activities, students participate in an engaging (and somewhat competitive!) discussion in which they argue their selected or assigned positions.
Following the discussion, you could require students to use their graphic organizers and notes to write an ACT-style argumentative essay. (This activity will add an extra 45 minutes to the lesson plan.)
