After reading "Julius Caesar" and learning about the Roman times, students will use this project to research, learn, and present about a different historical event. Students will be asked to research a historical event that one the surface has nothing to do with Caesar (like Hitler's rise to power), and then compile a presentation in which they explain the connection of the history to the play. Through the research process, students should be able to see connections between literature and real life. This is a group project, but could be modified into individual work. Students were given class time to work on the project. The teacher should plan for approximately 30 minutes to explain the project. Presentation times will vary, but at least one class period should be devoted to them.
