Product Description
This resource, like so many others, was created out of necessity. My students NEEDED more practice setting up quotes and properly citing them. They were doing okay for a while... until we got to our Shakespeare unit, and the bard threw them for a loop. It seemed like they forgot every rule of quoting and citing their sources. I created this with the specifics of how to quote verse (i.e., Shakespeare) with just that in mind. I copied the first page separate from the practice pages so that my students could have it as a reference for the rest of the year and not just for this particular activity. We read through the notes as a class, highlighting and underlining as the students saw fit; then, we did the first excerpt together as a class for some scaffolding. The remainder was done with a partner and independently before coming back as a class to discuss and share out.
