This assignment is meant to serve as an alternative to an essay test.
Students work in small groups and using their notes and the text of the play itself, they discuss the questions on the test. The questions themselves are comprehensive, big idea typed questions that require students to make connections to the play and to the real world, and require that they are textually specific.
Students record themselves having these conversations, and them submit the recordings to the teacher via GoogleDrive, Drop Box etc.
So this assessment measures both their understanding of the text as well as their ability to engage in a meaningful conversation.
Included is the test, the rubric I use to score it, and a page-long handout describing exactly what an 'audio assessment' is.
