This 2-day activity helps students learn more about the context of the setting and culture in Julius Caesar.
On the first day, students are split into 5 different groups to research different aspects of ancient Roman life, including government, Julius Caesar's life, and others. Websites and questions are provided.
On the second day, students are split up so there is one person from each of the 5 sections from the first day in a new group. Then, students teach each other what they learned about their topic.
When groups are done teaching, there is a short whole-class discussion to wrap-up.
My students love this activity. They think I'm letting them cheat by only actually researching one section. :)
A key is provided.
