Do you ever wonder how to get it all in, teach in depth, have it all tie together, and foster deep conversation among your primary aged students? Then here's the seventh unit for you to kick off the year!
These plans are tried and true lessons from my first grade classroom and have been edited by other first grade teachers!
The book, Julius, The Baby of the World, is to be read three days in a row, focusing on different standards each day. There's a standards overview for the book, on top of the daily lesson plan that includes those higher order thinking questions and other suggestions within the ELA block. There are interactive journals and worksheets that pair with each standard represented. Every day there is a written portion that connects with RL 3.9 in order to have students make either text to text or text to self connections.
This is a growing unit that will be periodically updated, so check back for updated versions. This unit is a part of The First Four Weeks of School bundle which will be included as part of the full year bundle. This is the seventh unit in the sequence.
