In this two-page close reading passage, your students will come away with an understanding of the significance and history behind Juneteenth, as well as compare and contrast this celebration of independence with the Fourth of July. In addition, your students will have the opportunity to analyze primary source images using the step by step analysis sheet included. This resource is perfect for a Civil War or Reconstruction unit, or for the end of the year.
