Activities include -
Rhyming Triplets: Using the cards and mini-worksheet in your word study center, students find sets of 3 rhyming words. The full worksheet can be used whole class or small group, as needed.
Tattling vs. Reporting: Mini-poster/chart which teaches the difference between the two. Includes cards can be used in a teacher-led discussion (I do this over several days) or used as a writing prompt.
Sight Word Practice: Illustrate words and put them ABC order.
Directional Words: An “E Chart” like that in the book gives students practice with "up, down, left, right." Includes a printable that gives students practice in recognizing these directions and writing the words.
Charades: In chapter 7, Junie B. uses her fingers to make circles in front of her eyes to show Herb that she is getting glasses. Use the cards on these pages to play charades as part of a center, indoor recess, or whole class. Students act out the picture without talking, as others guess what is on the card.
Report Card: This activity gives your students an opportunity to reflect on and self-assess their own classroom behavior.
Writing Prompts: There are a total of 8 different writing prompts (including personal narrative and persuasive writing), each presented as an individual writing sheet or a sheet that can be cut apart, allowing the prompts to be glued into reading response notebooks.
