This project based learning activity, Junkbots, has students practicing "reusing" in celebration of Earth Day. In this fun activity, students will create a Junkbot, or robot made from junk they find from home. I encourage students to work small, like with a soup can or shoe box for the base. This project can be done at home or at school. Included is a student presentation, which outlines the problem of landfills overflowing, the solution of reusing, and the specifics of the Junkbot Challenge. Also provided is a student journal, with pages such as My Blueprint, My Junkbot, and a Self-Evaluation. This is a wonderful project for Earth Day and discussing recycling, reducing, and reusing!
