This six page Word document is a synopsis of the plot of Sean O'Casey's play set in Dublin in 1922. It is divided into three sections, one for each Act of the play.
Students can demonstrate their understanding of the main events from the plot by completing the cloze tests. This resource could be used for assessment, for revision or as plot summary notes for students.
I find this approach very useful for supporting weaker students or students with learning difficulties who need scaffolding to help them focus on and recall core plot elements.
There is a word bank for each of the six pages. You could redact this to make the activity more challenging.
The complete solution is also included.
It's a Word document, so editable to suit your class.
