Another hysterical mashup! This play combines the stories of Jurassic Park and the Three Little Pigs. In this silly, witty adaptation, the Three Little Pigs are encouraged to build their houses on the island built by John HAMmond. Since the island is already inhabited by dinosaurs, things become a little tricky, and the Little Pigs try to build themselves shelters with items they find on the island with hilarious results.
This play is a great drama tool as it parallels the Ontario Drama curriculum so nicely. This script allows students to engage in dramatic play (B1.1), develop the element of character (B1.2), determine/develop props (B1.4), as well as reflect, respond and analyze their dramatic experiences (B2.1, B2.2, B2.3). This play could be a unit in and of itself!
This play was written for 20 students. If your class is a little smaller than mine, you can easily combine a couple of the smaller roles, and should your class be a little larger, you can easily add a couple more dinosaurs that the Little Pigs meet along their way. Alternatively, if you have an older class that is larger than 20, you could allow the shyer students to work behind the scenes; building the set or working the audio system.
