If typical minimal pairs therapy is getting you nowhere, this "Just Add S" series can really help your students sequence their S-Blends correctly by providing visual and tactile feedback.
This resource is PERFECT for students who delete either the 1st OR 2nd consonant, so it's truly versatile for both types of cluster reduction. Tap along the sounds with your finger and actually see the breakdown with clever visuals.
Use this strategy for all R-L-S Blends and save $ with my Cluster Reduction Sequencing Strips Bundle.
This packet contains 78 sequencing strips and if you upload to your iPad you've got some awesome NO PREP cluster reduction materials
at your fingertips! At the core, these sequencing strips are minimal pairs, so you can always change and adapt your therapy to a minimal pairs approach once your students can successfully sequence. If you're curious how this works, then download my free sample.
Using pictures to represent the first sound (a snake for 's') and then combining with the rest of the S-Blend ('wing'), students can break down and sequence their words much easier. These are also great to print and fold over so that your students can 'flip' open and uncover the S-Blend once they have sequenced it an made the new word.
I've updated to include some new blank strips to make your own S-Strips and some simple snake visuals to carryover to other therapy activities.
