Do your students work hard! Do you sometimes feel that they deserve a little break from their rigorous lessons? My little learners work so hard and are expected to do so much that I wanted to create something that was JUST FOR FUN! I surprise them with a lesson that wasn’t a lesson at all. In fact, an activity that would be like a surprise party! That is why I went in search of some fun activities for my class. I do not claim to be the creator of these activities, I learned about them from many sources (friends, family, internet etc.). I wanted to create a plan for them that I could slip into to my lesson plans or give to a sub. I wanted a list of the materials I needed so I could put them in a box and have them ready to go. The result is this product.
The file contains 10 Just For Fun activities. I’ve included photos of real kids doing the activities. I often see great ideas on the internet (only to find that they are not always successful in real life). Each one of these activities has been successfully tested by real kids. I also include some recording sheets or example pages to accompany some of the activities.

In my classroom, I call this 30 to 35 minute block of fun time FUN FRIDAY (because I do them on a Friday afternoon). Of course, you can do them any time it works in your schedule. I plan for once a month and it is a SURPRISE. The kids do not know in advance if it is a Fun Friday or not. This makes it a super special treat!
These activities would also work great for indoor recess, a holiday celebration, ice breaker activities to start the year or last day of school activities.
I hope your hard working learners enjoy these JUST FOR FUN activities!
