Students will learn about juxtaposition while examining a provided copy of the paining "The Death of Marat." They will look for contrasting elements in the painting, read about how Elie Wisel uses juxtaposition in the book "Night," read about how authors juxtapose ideas to emphasize points, and answer high level analysis questions in which they determine what the painter is emphasizing through the use of juxtaposition.
