These sorting mats were originally made for center work, but they can easily be used for whole or small group instruction. Students can use magnetic letters, numbers, and/or words to complete the sorts or they can use the ones provided. At the end of the sorts, there are several different sorting mats so that students can record their work (just have them record the heading onto their lab sheet) and use the printable version of sorting cards. Sorts included: syllable sorts, rhyming sorts, letter formation (sticks, curves....etc..), beginning sounds (a-z), punctuation, short/long vowels, blends, diagraphs, numbers, shapes, greater than/less than, and colors
