“Reading and Writing Up Close” was written by a National Board Certified Reading Specialist and Educational Consultant to provide teachers with the close reading resources they need for beginning readers and writers. “Up Close” lessons are designed to meet K-2 Common Core State Standards across text types. Each lesson is designed around a different mentor text and includes:

Full color anchor chart samples take the guesswork out of planning and save valuable prep time. Anchor chart templates serve as graphic organizers to help student deconstruct mentor texts.
