Do your students struggle with the many components of writing? Want to make writing a bit more fun and easy? Editing checklists are a simple and easy way for students to remember all of the conventions of writing you are going to be looking for in writing. Last year I developed these writing checklists and watched my students writing skills soar! I printed these checklists and backed them with some fun colors then laminated. Each time a student finished their piece of writing they took a checklist and a dry erase marker and checked off each component when they read through their writing for it. My first graders writing was became so high I was asked if I had the gifted class! :-) Editing checklists are a fun and easy way for little ones to focus on the specific components of writing!
