Product Description
Thanks for checking out this reading bundle! I use the games in this set during center time, and they work FABULOUSLY! Kids LOVE them. The games can also be used for interventions/RtI, homework, tutoring, enrichment, or morning work! Can you think of other ways, too?

Included:
TWELVE 1- or 2-player (ideally) reading games, including the following focus skills:

• ar vs. or
• er vs. ir vs. ur
• oo (food) vs. oo (book)
• oi vs. oy
• au vs. aw vs. al/all
• ou vs. ow
• sh vs. ch/tch
• th vs. wh
• ar vs. or vs. ir/er/ur
• ou/ow vs. oo’s (food/book)
• sh vs. ch/tch vs. th vs. wh
• au/aw vs. al/all vs. oi/oy

That’s right! An entire set of games that covers K-2nd grade decoding skills! Talk about differentiation! ☺

Set-up:
Print the game boards on white cardstock or construction paper. Laminate for durability or place in plastic page protectors like I do (trust me—it’s WAY EASIER). Gather some game pawns of your choosing (i.e., cubes, counting bears, old game pieces, etc.), some dry-erase markers of various colors (1 color per player), and 1 die. You’re ready to play!

Directions:
All games are played the same way, and all directions are included on each game board! Regardless of the skill covered, each game is played by a player rolling a die, moving that many spaces (starting on the board ANYWHERE s/he chooses), and reading the word s/he lands on. Once the word is read, s/he finds its matching picture in the middle of the game board and crosses it off with his/her dry-erase marker. Play moves to the next player. The game is over when a player makes 4 in a row! (You can easily change the rules to the winner is whomever covers the MOST spaces or even whomever crosses off the final picture. These games are also adaptable to players playing solo!) All of these reading games are tons of fun! I hope you love them as much as my students do! Have fun! ☺
