Reading - Use Context clues to determine word meanings.
(At highest possible level of achievement)
Students will be given four levels of difficulty based on their individualized educational needs.
(1) Use vocabulary words introduced in text.
(2) Match words and context clues.
(3) Use context clues to determine word meanings.
(4) Develop sentences using vocabulary words introduced in text.
Educational Activities (K – 1) Prompt and support or ask and answer questions; identify main topic and key details, describe the connection between pieces of information, ask and answer questions about unknown words, describe the relationship between
illustrations and the text in which they appear, actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding, clarify the meaning of words or phrases, use illustrations and details to describe key ideas, read text appropriately complex for grade 1
Predictable language with: tactile, visual and auditory prompts for students with ADD/ADHD. Students with either ADD or ADHD require the use of handouts with visual aids. They should also be provided with a word processor with spell- checker and/or voice output to provide auditory feedback. Oral instructions should be concise with instructions or demonstrations presented in more than one way.
