As you know, building vocabulary is vital for students who are learning English as a second or foreign language.
This activity has multiple uses:
1: After students have mastered (speaking) the "Yes, I like" and "No, I don't like" structures, have students practice food names. After this practice, have students cut food pics from magazines, and glue the pics into the grey spaces. (Students can make their own books.)
2. Make or draw small flashcards, and laminate the pages of this resource. Use sticky tack to make the grey areas sticky. Using your flashcards, introduce the speaking structures to your students.
3. Use a laminated version of this resource for in~class review games.
4. Use the grey areas as space (for your class) to write what they like and don't like. Next, have them illustrate the pages, and make books for themselves. (to take home)
5. Finally, you can split your class into teams, and have them read their books to each other.
