This includes 6 pages of handouts for parents on what Visual Art students are learning in kindergarten through fifth grade. There is one handout for each grade level. Through reading these handouts, parents of students will learn:
-Characteristics of Art Students at this Grade Level
The kindergarten handout states that these students "Have very little sense of scale- they are the center of the universe in their art."
The fifth grade handout states that these students are "Interested in learning new tools and techniques, and are capable of working with almost any material."
-Things We Will Learn in Art Class
I took the Georgia Performance Standards for Visual Art and re-worded them into plain language that parents will understand.
-Art Skills You Can Work on At Home with Your Student-
There are ideas for working on cutting, drawing, gluing, and trying different materials.
These handouts are for giving to parents at curriculum nights, PTO nights, or in a weekly newsletter.
