Organized Chaos Music

This resource will help you map out your elementary general music curriculum with lists of skills and concepts to cover in each grade level, an outline of the year broken down by month with the concepts to cover each month, and specific accommodations to start organizing your lesson plans and materials for the entire school year to be prepared for any situation you encounter and adapt as seamlessly as possible.

Included in this set:

Skills checklists by grade- list of concepts for K-6 grade levels (PDF and Word)

General Music Yearly Outlines- a year-long schedule of when to teach each concept by month (PPT and PDF) **Two versions are included: standard and digital/ in-person adaptable for any teachers preparing for the potential of distance learning

User notes- suggestions for how to think through specific lesson ideas for various teaching models, directions for linking your lesson materials to the yearly outlines

This set does NOT include specific lesson plans- only concepts. The listed concepts and sequence are designed to fit with my Elementary General Music Curriculum and can easily be linked to those materials- CLICK HERE to purchase the full set of lesson plans and materials to accompany these long-range planning resources.

The skills checklists and yearly outlines are both editable, so you can modify the specifics to fit your own curriculum / scope and sequence. Blank versions without the months listed are also included for the yearly outlines for those who are on a different school calendar, and there is an additional blank version to add additional grades or classes (K-6 are included). They are also designed so you can upload them to Google Drive so that you can link your lesson materials there as well (directions are included)

The digital & in-person templates are designed so you can map out the year by concept and then start listing ideas for socially distant in-person as well as virtual distant teaching models for the year, so you can be as prepared as possible for whatever comes our way this year. While there is hope for a return to normalcy, we know this is far from over!

The purchase of this set entitles the buyer to use the materials in their own classroom. If you would like to use this in collaboration with your department or share with other teachers, you can purchase additional licenses at a discount.

Please note that, due to the variety of resources offered in this file, the download comes in a zipped file.
