PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Thanks for stopping by!

What’s Included:
• 18 red-framed picture cards (fan, red, pig, stop, jug, cake, bee, night, bone, glue, car, horn, house, toy, hook, moon, pearl, fox)
• 18 green-framed “Rhymes with” cards (pan, bed, wig, mop, bug, snake, key, kite, phone, shoe, star, corn, mouse, boy, book, spoon, girl, box)
• 6 yellow-framed KA-POW cards

Setup:
Print all pages on white cardstock or construction paper. Laminate for durability; then, cut out the cards. You’re ready to play!

Directions:
This game is played best with only 2 players, but you can modify as needed. Deal out all of the red picture cards to both players (if you use all cards included in this set, each player will have 9 cards). The cards should be placed in front of each respective player FACE-UP so the pictures are visible to all. Shuffle the green “Rhymes with” picture cards and yellow KA-POW cards together. You can choose to keep all KA-POW cards in the game, or remove some so less “craziness” is involved. ☺ I find all 6 KA-POW cards are great because they keep things VERY interesting! Once all green and yellow cards are shuffled, they should be placed in a pile between both players. Game on!

The first player draws a card from the face-down deck in the center. The card is then discarded in a pile next to the deck. Both players look at the card to determine with which picture they’re trying to rhyme. For instance, if the player flips over the “Rhymes with ‘pan’” card, both players search their red picture cards for “fan,” as that is the only rhyming possibility in the game! When the fan card is found, the player that has it flips it face-down and play continues to the next player. If a yellow KA-POW card is picked, the players must switch seats and play with their opponent’s cards as their own! The game is over when one player’s red picture cards have ALL been flipped over, making him/her the winner! Play again and again until time runs out. What a great way to practice rhyming during center time!

My students love this game because it’s so unpredictable! I bet yours will, too. ☺
