Thanks for stopping by! You've found a SUPER BUNDLE!
TWO Games Included:
• 12 blue-framed sum cards (0-1 1)
• 12 red-framed addition cards (i.e., 3+3, 0+4)
• 12 pink framed difference cards (0-1 1)
• 12 green-framed subtraction cards (i.e., 4-2, 8-4)
• 6 rainbow-framed KA-POW cards (for addition game)
• 6 blue-framed KA-POW cards (for subtraction game)
Print all pages on white cardstock or construction paper. Laminate for durability; then, cut out the cards. You’re ready to play both games!
These games are played best with only 2 players, but you can modify as needed. FOR ADDITION GAME (use pages 3-7): Deal out all of the blue sum cards to both players (if you use all cards included in this set, each player will have 6 cards). The cards should be placed in front of each respective player FACE-UP so the numbers are visible to all. Shuffle the red addition cards and rainbow KA-POW cards together. You can choose to keep all KA-POW cards in the game, or remove some so less “craziness” is involved. ☺ I find all 6 KA-POW cards are great because they keep things VERY interesting! Once all red and rainbow cards are shuffled, they should be placed in a pile between both players. Game on!
The first player draws a card from the face-down deck in the center. The card is then discarded in a pile next to the deck. Both players look at the card to determine the addition problem to solve. For instance, if the player flips over the “3+3” card, both players search their blue sum cards for “6.” When the 6 card is found, the player that has it flips it face-down and play continues to the next player. If a rainbow KA-POW card is picked, the players must switch seats and play with their opponent’s cards as their own! The game is over when one player’s blue sum cards have ALL been flipped over, making him/her the winner! Play again and again until time runs out.
FOR SUBTRACTION GAME (use pages 8-12): Deal out all of the pink difference cards to both players. The cards should be placed FACE-UP so the numbers are visible to all. Shuffle the green subtraction cards and blue KA-POW cards together. After that, the rules are EXACTLY the same as the addition game found in the directions above!
Both of these KA-POW games are perfect ways to practice either addition or subtraction facts during center time! They’re so much better than boring old flashcards.
My students love both games because they’re so unpredictable!
I bet yours will, too. ☺
