My students LOVE any kind of practice connected to a mystery picture. I created this Royals mystery picture to help my 4th graders practice their coordinate graphing ... and to celebrate our hometown team with their trip to the World Series!
Print points to plot AND the blank graph paper for each student. I teach them to use a Post-it to track each point down the page as they plot it on the graph. The points should be connected with a ruler AS THEY PLOT THEM. The first set of points connect to make the basic shape of the top of the crown. The next set creates the bottom part of the logo. Then the next two sets create the K and the C in the middle. I encourage my students to color the picture once they have plotted all the points and figured out the mystery picture.
I hope to make more of these for other seasons and holidays. There is another completed listing of a jack-o-lantern.
