****AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, and OCTOBER are included so far. Each month will be added as they are completed throughout the 2016-17 school year.
Daily practice with different word problems have shown my students that they can be successful and independent in solving these tricky math problems. It’s amazing to see my students now showing me how and why they worked through the problem of the day by themselves or with a friend. I love hearing my kiddos ‘teach’ and justify their reasoning to their peers. Each month I will add another pack to the growing bundle. These common core aligned, rigorous, and interactive pages offer all students a chance to become confident and comfortable with tasks they will eventually see in different settings. Each set will also be sold separately (priced at $3.50 each). The bundle will be available at a HUGE discounted price. I hope your kiddos get as much out of the daily practice as mine have throughout this school year.
What’s included FOR EACH MONTHLY SET:
*problem of the day cover that can be used in a binder or copied on cardstock to create a monthly book that the students can work through.
*18-20 different “problem of the day” problems that are related to the month. HOLIDAYS, WEATHER, SEASONS, ANIMALS, SPORTS, SCHOOL EVENTS, AND MUCH MORE WILL BE SEEN THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. 2 different versions are included for each month so that you can use whichever works best in your classroom (objects that can be cut and glued into the picture or students use their own drawing skills in their picture).
*the summer pack will include at least 25-30 different problems that can be used throughout June and July!***
*Each ‘problem of the day’ page has many different ways to break down the word problem including: “draw it out”, “ten frames & equations”, “Number bonds”, “Number line” & “explain it”. These started out as whole group practice, but at the end of the 1st quarter, we began doing this during math centers and as independent practice. This could be a fun homework addition as well!
*Please follow me on TPT to find many different activities that can be used in your great classrooms
*all graphics, fonts, and borders are credited on the last page of the preview file, as well as each pack.
