Planned for a higher ability year 9 class, this lesson explores Robert Frost's "The Road Not Travelled". It uses some hinge questioning using multiple choice answers (in my class, the children use their arms to show their responses, YMCA-style, but using mini-whiteboards would also work well). The lesson focuses both on language features and on structural features, asking the pupils to explore the connotations of "sigh" as well as looking at the poem's punctuation and its rhyme scheme. Part of the lesson is the teaching of plotting a rhyme scheme
