PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Many sellers have variations on the same game, calling it "Swat" or "Slap" or "Fly Swatting". This is the same classroom activity with a new name - "Kazzow!"

Swat-type games are fun activities that engage learners with a wall or tabletop activity. It's a great Hebrew school and Sunday school game, because of the
challenges of teaching with little time (sometimes one day per week) and the need to make Hebrew fun. I created this hands-on activity that will encourage Hebrew learning, as well as the motivate students to come back for more.

Of course, anyone can use this activity such as foreign language teachers, PreK teachers, Hebrew Day school teachers, and home schoolers will also love this activity.

"Kazzow!" requires very "low prep" for you. Simply print the pages and laminate. After that, you can choose whether you lay them on the floor, glue pages to a poster board, or tape to your white board. Just print and cut the caller's calls and your prep work is done.

I have two sizes of letters for you. Large letters (2 per page), so that you can play on a wall or floor, or the small letters (4 per page) which make a great tabletop "slap" game, being the first to slap the sound/letter called out. Teachers choose the size based on your available space and the size of your class.

When the caller/teacher reads a card with the Hebrew letter and vowel sound, one student uses a wooden spoon or fly swatter to hit/swat the letter. Add extra excitement by having teams compete against each other, or compete against another class. "Kazzow!" uses gross motor skills and the bodily/kinesthetic modality, which neuroscience (brain research) has proven are extremely effective at moving teachers' lessons into long-term memory, and important to keep learners focused, on task, and desiring more. You could also number the pages, and have students draw a number from a container. Students would read the page or pages with those numbers. Because "Kazzow!" involves movement, students will automatically be more engaged and more motivated than when sitting at a desk, reading Hebrew with patach from a book.

BONUS-
You get a third game. The caller cards do triple-duty for a tabletop game of Slap, as well as Go Fish and Memory.

Kazzow! is designed to be used as a classroom practice activity, as well as an assessment and culminating activity.

The pages are bright, colorful, and inviting. They are intended to be non-specific, for any age group, holiday, or season.

(Search Terms: aleph bet, alef bet, aleph bais, aleph beis, kriyah, kriya, kria, keriya, keriyah, slap, Sunday School, Hebrew school)
