It is so important to have our students interacting with contemporary artists! This is an artist whose work you need to share with your students! He is very well known for his official portrait of Barack Obama. It is also important for our students to learn about and interact with contemporary artists of color; people who have been taken for granted for throughout art history. Have your students experiment with blending colored pencils, and/or combining mixed materials!
