Ken Burns Civil War is an excellent documentary that explains the events of the Civil War using historians, pictures, songs, and primary source documents. Episode 6 takes place in 1864 and features brief biographies of Grant and Lee, the fighting between Grant and Lee, and Sherman's march to Atlanta.
The questions included can be used to help keep your students focused while watching part or all of episode 6 of the Ken Burns Civil War documentary and help them recognize big ideas and themes. The questions are a mix of recall/factual questions and high level thinking questions. There are even a couple of questions that could require outside research.
